Maureen Berney is the choral director at New Riegel Schools. She is excited to be directing her first musical “Annie.” A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Ms. Berney has performed in various opera, choral, and musical theater settings.
As a music educator, Ms. Berney is passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that enrich the lives of students and the community.
Ms. Berney would like to thank the cast, stage crew, pit band, parents, Mrs. Kleba, Mrs. Schalk, and the staff and the New Riegel community for making this endeavor possible.
Nikki Kleba is the 5-12 instrumental and K-1 General Music teacher at New Riegel. She is in her ninth year at NR and is very excited to finally be able to make a musical come to life for our students! She is a graduate of Hopewell-Loudon High School and Heidelberg University, where she participated in a wide variety of musical ensembles and musical theater productions as a cast member, singer, and instrumentalist.
She would like to thank the entire staff of New Riegel Schools for being supportive of this production as well as our various musical endeavors; the administrators who made sure this was possible; Miss Berney for helping to keep her sane while co-directing; the incredible cast and crew for their hard work; Mrs. Schalk for sharing her gift of and passion for dance; Lynelle Lortz for her skillful piano playing and musical tips; and for the parents and community members, without whom this wouldn't have been possible.
